Definition

(1) Tree or shrub trained to form a rounded head of branches at the top of a clear stem. (See also branched-head standard, central-leader standard, half-standard) (2) Uppermost petal of a pea-like flower, often large and brightly colored. (3) Erect inner tepal of an Iris flower.
