Ajuga reptans variegata

Bugleweed

Excellent with Hostas, Ferns and many spring-flowering bulbs, this fast-growing ground cover has glossy leaves often tinted with purple, cream and pink. The short spikes of small flowers bloom blue, purple, white or pink. Plant between rocks or stepping stones in woodland and rock gardens or in containers. Can be invasive. Best in full sun or partial shade with plenty of moisture. Tolerates dry conditions once established. Evergreen in mild winter areas. Plant in fall or spring.
