Queen Palm

Only one type of these feather palms, the Queen Palm, is commonly grown. The straight trunk and 10- to 15-foot-long fronds that look like ostrich feathers give it a fluffy, graceful elegance. Shelter from strong winds to prevent fronds from breaking. Remove dead leaves for best appearance. Reduce water when temperature drops.

Majestic and fast-growing, its straight, erect trunk is topped with a narrow crown of 10 to 15-foot-long, feathery, glossy green fronds.
