Nymphaea 'Midnight'

These aquatic plants are prized for their star-shaped, semi-double flowers which bloom in many colors. Flowers and large leaves float on or rise just above the surface of water. Need full sun to bring out their gorgeous blooms. Plant easy-to-grow, hardy varieties where freezing winters kill the tender tropical varieties. Plant rhizomes on the surface of soil, 8 to 12 inches below the waterline, in a pond or container.
Nymphaea
This scented, day-blooming, tropical lily produces richly colored flowers, 4 to 6 inches across. The small, deep green leaves have brown spots and are flushed a deep purple underneath. Plant 1 to 2 feet deep.
