Yunnan Meadow Rue, Thalictrum dipterocarpum

The tall, graceful Meadow Rues are perfect for the back of flower gardens, or in woodland and wild gardens. Their fernlike foliage and clouds of small flowers give an airy look, especially effective against a dark background. Some varieties are short-lived. Plants prefer cool temperatures, so give some shade in hot areas. Protect from wind. Stake tall varieties. Buy in containers in spring, or start your own from seed or division.

One of the tallest varieties, the foliage is more finely textured than some others. It is an unusual cut flower.
