Zinnia elegans 'Peter Pan Orange'
Youth In Old Age

Flower colors include bold and hot reds, oranges, and yellows, as well as soft pastel shades of apricot, rose, cream, light yellow, and lavender. Flowers are single or double, solid, bicolored, streaked or spotted, and plants come in many shapes and sizes. Dwarf plants start at 6 inches tall, while tall-growing varieties grow up to 3 feet. Use for bedding or mass plantings. Use dwarf varieties in edging and containers. The graceful narrow-leaved Zinnia is useful for naturalizing in rock gardens, containers, and hanging baskets. Seedlings resent root disturbance, so start in peat pots or sow directly only after ground has warmed. Avoid overhead watering to reduce mildew.
Sturdy, uniformly rounded anad a favorite for formal bedding or containers, it has double and semi-double flowers 3½ inches across. The Peter Pan series is also available in pink, scarlet, gold, cream, and flame colors, sperarately or all mixed together. Only 6 to 8 weeks from flower to seed.
